As we prepare to close the doors of our brick and mortar shop the end of this month, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to say thank you to a few people who have made this possible these last years.
- To all our Artisan Partners, it has been an absolute joy sharing parts of your stories. I am enamored by your work and always felt that you made making a shop aesthetically beautiful so easy. Thank you for inviting us in. We are cheering you on and praying blessing on the work of your hands and hearts in the next season.
- To Midtown Row, thank you for believing in us, taking a risk on us, and for all the grace as I learned the business thing. Marisa, I am particularly grateful for all the ways you championed us. Hannah, thank you for always sharing, posting, and supporting. Taijes, thank you for being a great neighbor.
- To all our workshop leaders and local makers, thank you for bringing your trade to the shop, whether through a workshop or a market. It was such a privilege to host and introduce you to our community.
- To our non-profit partners (Echo, FreeKind, World Relief, Latisha's House, A21, Remake, and Fashion Revolution), thank you for allowing us to share your story and partner with the good things you are doing. We believe in you and are cheering you on as you each bring about healing and justice in your unique areas.
- To Sabrina, thank you for all the wisdom you have offered these last years. I am so glad God introduced us.
- To Britt and Kimmy, thank you for inviting our community to slow and make something each month. Thank you for drinking tea with us and making such great use of our front area. I loved what you brought.
- To our Book Club friends, I loved learning with you. Thank you for showing up open and bringing who you are.
- To our customers, thank you for shopping with us. Whether you came in once a week for your coffee (Ann) or every once in a while for that gift, please know that it was noticed. Thank you for eating cookies with us, celebrating with us at events, bringing your kids in to color, and for trying on vintage clothes. Thank you for asking about who made it, sharing about us with your friends (I can't even count the number of times I heard people say, "my friend, ___, told me I just had to come here!"). It has been an absolute joy to serve you and connect you to so many good stories all around the globe.
- To our team, wow. Weather you have moved on (Sophie, Jess, Claire, Sarah Katherine, Ava, and Maura) or you are still here, thank you for all the ways you helped to make made better.
- To Beth, thank you for messaging me all those years ago. For all the lousy pop-ups we muscled through and for believing in what we do enough to to keep showing up. Thank you for your gentle care of me and our community.
- To Ash, thank you for laughing with me in my funky slumps or down moments, the ones where you gotta just laugh. Thank you for just getting it and for reminding us of grace and nuance. We have needed you.
- To Lyra, thank you for keeping us straight on the back-end. For all the moments you stepped in so willingly (and I know full well it was totally an inconvenience and meant moving things around). Thank you for the ways you invited your family to be a part of this with you. I still love that Estlin wanted to come to made on her birthday.
- To Kris, thank you for capturing the heart of made so beautifully. Thank you for not thinking I was weird all those years ago with my random message. Thank you for giving such care to showing off each item with such intention and heart. Thank you for albums of 2,000 photos. Also, who would have thought! You are in WILLIAMSBURG. Love it.
- To Kayla, thank you for all the "are you at the shop?" texts. Thank you for coming by and staying all day, always willing to just help with whatever. I just love being with you.
- To Ali, thank you for your sourdough. No seriously, thank you for all the intention you do life with. Thank you for bringing that to us and for challenging us to think more fully about these conversations. Thank you for inviting your kids into this; seeing them march in and scramble onto the stools will be a sweet memory.
- To Soph, thank you for being just so kind and sweet with our community. So many times I would hear from customers, "I met this really nice girl" after you worked on Saturdays. Thank you for diligently caring for people.
- To Charity, I feel like I still owe you for that 15-hour Nashville Fest. Thank you for showing up at just the perfect time. I so appreciate your willingness to learn and your diligence to getting what needs to happen done. Thank you for stepping out, even sometimes when it stretched you. So proud of who you are.
- To Courtney, thank you for all the kids' birthday gifts purchased with us ;) Thank you for just seeing a need and going for it. You are so good at that and make everything better. And, thank you for allowing Noa and Sammy to be a part of made. I love their heart for all of it.
- To Mom, thanks for being our top buyer every year in a row (thank you, Dad — too). But, seriously — I really can't imagine the made shop without you. Thank you for everything you so generously invested. For caring for our plants, for feeding our community with your cookies and presence, for keeping the shop clean, and just helping me to process on the hard days.
And, lastly — Daniel, thank you for literally always supporting me. Thank you for believing in this and for being willing to invest so much these last years. Thank you for being made's biggest fan and all the moments of praying, processing, and helping to navigate. I would never have done this without you. Love you.
Thank you to Holly and every single one of you who brought the made message to all of us. It has been truly special. Godspeed to each of you. 💕
